Kayleigh’s gran organised this super sweet 16th birthday party months ago as a surprise for her. Neither Kayleigh nor her five friends knew what to expect when the turned up last Saturday – all they were told was to bring some casual clothes, some dressy clothes, and to keep their make up minimal!
It was wonderful to see their faces as we explained what was in store for the girls. A sophisticated makeover started the party – Katie our make up artist chatted with the girls to find out what they liked regarding their make up, and gave them little hints and tips as she swiftly transformed them and curled their hair, or put it up depending on what they wanted.
Once the girls were made up we went to work on taking beautiful, and fun photos of them separately and in their various friendship groups. The girls very quickly began to relax and started coming up with their own ideas for poses- the prop box was used extensively! As always I took way too many photos but once we get started it is such fun, and the photos get better as the girls relax. Once the shoot was over it was down to the party bar. The karaoke sing star was turned up full blast and the girls voices could be heard through the house as they sang with enthusiasm! It was wonderful to see them enjoy themselves so much – when a party is a surprise it can be an anxious time wondering whether or not it was a good idea but there was really no need to worry about this one!
